THAI’s ISO 14001 Responses to Global Warming

                                                                                                    Mr. Chanchai Singtoroj, THAI’s Vice President, Human Resources Development & Management Department as a chairman of working committee on ISO 14001, Mrs. Wanporn Wibooncharoenkitja, THAI’s Managing Director, Ground Customer Services Department and Dr. Monthip Srirattana, Director General, Pollution Control Department, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment preside over “THAI’s ISO 14001 Responses to Global Warming” event which will be held during Wednesday 27- Thursday 28, August 2008 at 08.30-17.00 hours at Building A1, THAI’s Operations Centre Suvarnabhumi Airport. The project strongly focuses on an environment concerned as a global issue for airlines and is based on Standard ISO 14001, which measures and maintains international standards for environmental conservation.

THAI is fully aware of the impact of global warming and climate changes and has made every possible effort to help prevent further damage on the surrounding environment.  The implementation of ISO 14001:2004 standardization was part of the company’s effort to raise greater awareness and helps prevent further damage of the surrounding environment.  The sufficiency economic theory has been incorporated in THAI’s environmental policy to help THAI in determining the likely impact as a result of the company’s production processes, activities and services. Moreover, THAI is working to ensure that the implementation and operation of ISO standards will  systematically help reduce  impact on the environmental. THAI has encouraged its employees to conserve energy and to use the energy wisely by implementing effective office supply management techniques and introducing energy substitution. 

“THAI’s ISO 14001 Responses to Global Warming” seminarincludes a talk on the causes and effects of global warming.  An exhibition provides comprehensive information on the current situation of the world's environmental conditions.  Visitors to display booths can enjoy a range of illustrations of design of environmentally friendly products, focusing on three main areas;

- Green House Gas

- Garbage recycling process

- Sufficiency economic theory in responding to global warming

In addition, the exhibition is supported by major organizations from both state and public sectors, which promote environmental awareness such as Thai Bioplastics Industry Association, Tetra Pak (Thai) Ltd, Nongpho Ratburi Coorperative Under Royal Patronage, Wangkanai Group and Ampolfood Processing Ltd. etc.
