The financial statements for the three - month and nine - month periods ended June 30, 2004with a clarification

In the three - month periods ended June 30, 2004, revenues from the sale of goods and the rendering of services of the Company and subsidiaries are Baht 34,598 million, a increase of Baht 10,916 million or 46.10% from the same period last year which was affected by SARS. Although the revenues in this period increase, the Company incurs a net loss amount of Baht 836 million which is less than the same period last year amount of Baht 437 million or 34.3%. A loss per share of the Company is Baht 0.50 compared to Baht 0.91 at the same period last year. The selling and administrative expenses increase of Baht 6,968 million or 26.60% from the same period last year due to the higher price of jet fuel in the world market. As a result, the fuel expenses increase of Baht 2,680 million or 52.20% from the same period last year. In this period, the Company occurs a loss on foreign currency exchange amount of Baht 1,347 million as compared to a gain on foreign currency exchange at the same period last year amount of 1,486 million due to a weaken Baht.
For nine - month periods ended June 30, 2004, the Company and subsidiaries have the revenues from the sale of goods and the rendering of services amount of Baht 112,176 million, higher than the same period last year amount of Baht 15,239 million or 15.70%. As a result, the Company has a net profit of Baht 8,831 million, increase of Baht 1,808 million or 25.70% from the same period last year. Earning per share of the Company is Baht 5.43 compared to Baht 5.02 last year. The revenues of the Company increase because the Company develops its cancellation routes and reduces the unprofitable flights which have few passengers. Furthermore, the Company expands its new destinations -
Milan, Bangalore, and Jing Hong. The fuel expenses increase of Baht 3,077 million or 16.60% from the same period last year due to the higher price of jet fuel. Moreover, the Company occurs a loss on foreign currency exchange from weaken Baht amount of Baht 2,097 million compared to a gain on foreign currency expenses at the same period last year amount of Baht 2,039 million.
