Notification of the Investment in Low Cost Low Fare Airline Business.
Thai Airways International Public Company Limited would like to inform that the Company has agreed on the investment in low cost low fare airline business as the following details :
The company name : Sky Asia Company Limited.
Registered capital : 500 million baht.
The nature of its business : To carry on low cost low fare airline business.
Major shareholders :
1. Thai Airways International Public Company Limited shall hold 39 percent.
- Krung Thai Bank Public Company Limited shall hold 10 percent.
- Dhipaya Insurance Public Company Limited shall hold 10 percent.
- Government Pension Fund shall hold 10 percent.

The purpose of investment :
- Nok Air is to be a no-frills airline, a new innovative idea in budget air transportation providing convenient services in major high-traffic domestic routes. The airline will serve for the following 4 groups of passengers:
- Thai Airways’ existing passengers who want another convenient alternative way of air traveling with the same safety standard.
- Passengers who usually use other mode of transportation such as trains, automobiles or buses. Low fare strategy will be used to attract this passenger group.
- This new passenger group consists of students, college students, and small-business travelers. Competitive pricing will also be used to attract this passenger group.
- Existing passengers who may travel more often when the pricing become more competitive.
2. Take the opportunity from changing aviation environment in the Asia market both short haul and medium haul which focus on convenience, safety and competitive pricing to cope with high competition as a result of open sky policy within Thailand and in the region.
3.Build the network and protect the country’ s air travel business from entering of foreign airlines after the Government has carried out the Domestic Liberalization policy.
